Officials in Ukraine’s Odesa region said Thursday that Russian drones attacked the southern port city of Izmail for a second consecutive night, destroying an administrative building and injuring two people inside a house.
The attacks were part of a wave of 38 drones that Russia launched overnight, the Ukrainian air force said.

The NATO ally reported that debris from a Russian drone was found on Romanian soil on Thursday in an uninhabited area. A NATO spokesperson said that there is no evidence of an intentional Russian attack against Romania, but that “these acts are irresponsible and potentially dangerous.”
Reports of drone fragments on Romanian territory have occurred multiple times since Russia’s invasion of the country in February 2022.
Ukraine’s military said Thursday the country’s air defenses shot down 25 of the 38 Russian drones, with intercepts taking place over the Cherkasy, Kherson, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy and Zhytomyr regions.
Oleksandr Prokudin, the governor of Kherson, said on Telegram a Russian drone killed at least one person.
Zhytomyr Governor Vitaliy Bunechko said falling debris from destroyed drones damaged 10 houses and an infrastructure facility.
The head of Kyiv’s military administration, Serhiy Popko, said many drones attacked the capital region from multiple directions, but air defenses shot them all down.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said Thursday it destroyed 11 Ukrainian aerial drones over Kursk, Belgorod and Russia-occupied Crimea. Russian defenses also destroyed two uncrewed boats that were traveling toward Crimea, the ministry said.
Kursk Governor Alexey Smirnov reported one person was injured after falling debris set fire to a home.
Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said Ukrainian drone attacks damaged a home and a bus.
